30 Days of Promises - #22

"JESUS PROMISES AN ABUNDANT LIFE"

In John 10, Jesus makes a promise that he came so that we might have life and have it in abundance. But what does abundance mean? It means, "exceedingly, very highly, beyond measure, more, a quantity so abundant as to be considerably more than what one would expect or anticipate."

This is a theme that flows through the Scriptures. In 1 Corinthians 2, Paul says that "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Cor 2:9 NLT)

Also, we are reminded in Scripture that God is a God who does infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20) That is the kind of God we follow!

I believe God is constantly working to make our lives more abundant - to do a good work in our lives that will impact our lives and those around us in this life, and for eternity. What an amazing promise!

"A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow!" (John 10:10 TPT)

"This is why the Scriptures say: Things never discovered or heard of before,
things beyond our ability to imagine — these are the many things God has in store
for all his lovers." (1 Corinthians 2:9 TPT)

"Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energises you." (Ephesians 3:20 TPT)
