Do You Need a Declutter?
Apple released their new software update the other day - iOS 18. When I downloaded this new update, I realised how cluttered my phone was. There were many apps that I didn't use, there were unnecessary files taking up storage, and I realised that my phone was running much more slowly than it could be as a result.
So last night I spent a bit of time clearing out all the junk and gunk on my phone, and even watched a video on YouTube which showed me how to change settings on my phone to maximise my battery life and also my privacy and security. Since then, I have noticed my phone is running more smoothly, and I have freed up approximately 40GB of space on my phone.
As I noticed my phone running better, I heard the whisper of the Holy Spirit: "Our lives need this kind of decluttering too." Sometimes without meaning to, our lives can become so full that we get stuck in survival mode, which can both deplete us of valuable energy and vitality, and also distract us from living out His plan for our lives.
I was reminded that it is important to take moments to stop, take stock and re-evaluate our lives, and to not be afraid to declutter them. This can be challenging, but the blessing of this is that it creates more space for Him, to firstly deepen our intimacy with Jesus, and secondly to allow more room to focus on the things He wants you to specifically focus on.
Perhaps God is wanting to use this to remind you as well. If that is the case, why not take some time to evaluate your life, and see if there's anything God wants you declutter from your life in order to make room for the new!
