"WE HAVE THE GIFT OF PEACE"

Right before Jesus is arrested and nailed to the cross, he makes his followers (that is also you and I) a promise...

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27 NLT)

When I looked up the meaning of the word 'peace', I discovered it meant several things - prosperity, quietness, rest, to set at one again, and to join again. As I read that, it all seemed to fit together. Prosperity (of our soul and inner being), quietness and rest flow when we are joined again. Joined to what? Jesus - the vine.

Isaiah 26:3 words it this way: "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!" (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)

Are you feeling like peace is lacking in your life at the moment, or at times? I get it! What's the solution? Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the one who promises us peace.
